California Partnership – Air Quality Work Group

Recognizing the long-tern economic, environmental and social challenges of the San Joaquin Valley, Governor Schwarzenegger signed an executive order establishing the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley. Designed as a joint initiative between the public and private sectors and state and local leaders, the Partnership is comprised of:
- Eight state government members: The Secretary of Business, Transportation and Housing, Secretary for Education; Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency; Secretary of the Health and Human Services Agency; Secretary of the Resources Agency; Secretary of the Labor and Workforce Development Agency; Secretary of the State and Consumer Services Agency; and Secretary of the Department of Food and Agriculture.
- Eight local government members: one local government representative each from San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Kern Counties appointed by the Governor from nominations provided by the Councils of Government.
- Eight private sector members: appointed by the Governor.
- Leadership: The California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley is chaired by Sunne Wright McPeak, Secretary of Business, Transportation and Housing; Chairman of the Tulare County Board of Supervisors Connie Conway; and private sector leader Fritz Grupe.
