Role of The Maddy Institute

Since 2005, the Maddy Institute has provided the staffing and consulting support to the Partnership’s Air Quality Work Group since its inception. The Air Quality Work Group is comprised of over 300 stakeholders representing a diverse array of representatives from relevant business, environmental and governmental organizations. The Maddy Institute’s role is to provide the ongoing convening and facilitation needed for the Partnership’s Air Quality Work Group.

This work follows our work for the last three years. In 2003, or example, the Maddy Institute produced a five-part television series on air quality in the San Joaquin Valley that aired on television stations in Sacramento, Fresno and Bakersfield, as well as conducted five half-day seminars throughout the San Joaquin Valley on the unique air quality challenges facing our region. In 2004, the Public Policy Subcommittee of the Board of Directors selected "air quality in the San Joaquin Valley" as the Institute’s top public policy priority.
